“ On December 12, 2024, my boyfriend and I decided to visit the Walnut kitchen to celebrate his birthday after enjoying Cades Cove for the day. As out of towners, we had only checked reviews prior to going. We seemed very impressed and so when we first walked in, we did not realize that there was reservation seating. A manager quickly came over to us after an associate had spoken with us. The manager made space for us in a back area in which we could sit up at a bar high top. We were pleased to at least be able to be seated there. And celebrating my guys 60th birthday, The waitress Tina B really helped us out with the menu the whole way. She also brought some ice cream with a candle to help me celebrate his special day. Little did I know, nor the restaurant know, that would be the night that we would get engaged. As we went back to our cabin and I gave him his birthday gifts, he surprise me with a proposal. Thank you for the delicious food shrimp and grits for him and the fish for me the excellent service, and making space for us. We were very impressed with the restaurant, the atmosphere, the food, and the employees. ”

“ Always amazing, friendly service with wonderful craft cocktails and delicious food! Portions are large, so plan on sharing or taking a box home. The humus and cheese board is a favorite featuring local cheeses. The filet, lobster dip, steak and frites are also fantastic. Highly recommend. ”

“ i really enjoyed a meal with friends here last night before a concert at the nearby clayton center at maryville college. incredible experience. pimento appetizer with grits fritter chips was excellent. i had a nice merlot and bone in new york strip that was perfect. my wife had the filet which was also excellent. we shared sides including loaded potato , collard greens and Brussels sprouts and were all great. one of our group had a cocktail that didnt seem correct which was not a big deal but a manager came by and heard this and would not leave us alone until she was happy with a remade cocktail. manager seemed to truly enjoy being there and helping people have a great experience. great food, atmosphere and service. ill be going back for sure. ”
“ Our first time visiting this restaurant and we were very pressed with the overall experience. Our server was great and the entrees and dessert selections we tried were equally enjoyable. We had a group of six people and we made reservations a couple weeks earlier and the have us a private room. The evening was a big success celebrating a retirement party. I would deffinetly recommend giving this establishment a try ”
“ Every single time I eat at walnut kitchen, I am left saying WOW! Some of their staff have truly made me feel special and are truly full of joy! Foster, Mary, and Sidney to name a few. The bar drinks are classy phenomenal, and always tasting good. The menu changes so often that you can go and find new things to love, which I love that they keep their tried and true but still have fun things to try. I love that they have local art, and will be back soon to try the latest things. ”
